In 1990s, lunch mainly consisted of fried foods, carbohydrates and desserts. Vending machines also offer some sugary drinks and snacks that are considered to be unhealthy. With availability of limited options to be healthy, you should develop habits that can make your cholesterol and blood pressure higher. Many children find it difficult to have healthy food. Obesity can lead to some dangerous health consequences. The Clinton Foundation got into partnership with the American Heart Association to make the next generation healthier. There is a healthy relationship between food and fitness. 

The core philosophy behind this is to empower the children to develop healthy habits of people. Some initiatives should be taken to bring attention to people towards positive change in behaviour. A steady rise in many years and the number of calories that the children consume goes down. The rate of obesity in children has become high, it should be levelled off and the population starts declining. About 5 billion schools serves lunch every year and it is considered to be more nutritious than what it was before. 

Children are now having less processed food and they are drinking less sugar sweetened beverages and full fat milk. Schools are trying their level best to implement to the nutrition standards of the U.S. Department of Agriculture. However, implementing these standards are not that easy. There have been changes in the cafeterias all around the world. This can have a positive impact on the health of the children.
